cPanel is a standard feature of every hosting account. It gives you complete administrative control of your website in real-time. This advanced web-based interface offers you a way to quickly view account-related information and provides easy access to a wide variety of tools and utilities that come with your account. With the click of a mouse, you can administer your web space, email accounts, directories, cgi-bin and all the special features offered, including site statistics.

Control Panel

cPanel puts you in control of your site and provides the flexibility to make changes according to your own particular needs. From any Internet connection worldwide you can access your account and administer your web and email services.

There are three main components to the Control Panel.

1. Account Information & Resources

This section of the control panel allows you to see basic account information, such as your domain name, IP address, hosting package and detailed statistics on Disk Space Usage, Disk Space Available, Bandwidth Usage, Subdomains, Parked Domains, Add-on Domains, Mysql Databases, SQL Disk Usage, Disk Space Available, Email Accounts, Email forwarders, Autoresponders, Email Filters, Mailing Lists, and FTP accounts.

2. Server Information

This section of the control panel displays detailed information about the Web Server including, Server name, the WWW directory, Root directory, Path to PERL, Perl modules installed, Path to sendmail, Apache version, MySQL version, PHP version, PHP info, PERL version, Operating system, Kernel version, Machine Type, cPanel version, Last reboot and Server status.

3. Tool Kit

This section of the control panel lists all of the options available to you. The following table provides a description of each option available within the control panel.

 

Icon Option Description Billing Manager This option will allow you to login to our secure billing system where you can view/print off invoices, make payments or change your billing details, personal information, etc... Manage E-mail aAccount(s) This option allows you to manage all aspects of your POP email accounts. You can add, edit, delete email accounts and also change the password on any of your email accounts. WebMail WebMail allows you to access your email from anywhere in the world. As long as you have Internet access and a browser, you will be able to check your email, compose new messages, reply, forward, attach files from your hard drive and more. Best of all, it's easy to use. You don't need to configure any email programs, it simply works. Alternatively you can use any of the popular email programs available today such as Eudora or Outlook to send and receive email. We provide three WebMail applications in the control panel, Neomail, Horde and SquirrelMail. Default Email account This option will allow you to manage your default email account. Auto Responders This option will allow you to setup and manage your auto-responders. Auto-Responders reply to incoming email by automatically sending out an email to the sender. Email Filtering This option will allow you to setup and manage filters on your email accounts. Aliases / Forwarding Email forwarding options are available if you need specific addresses to be forwarded to different addresses on the internet. For example, email addressed to webmaster@yourdomain.com could forward to an account at AOL, but sales@yourdomain.com could forward to a Prodigy account. Email Domain Forwarders A Domain Forwarder redirects all mail from any of your domains to another domain. For example, if you setup bob.com to redirect sam.com, any email send to any address at bob.com will be sent to the corresponding user at sam.com (bob@bob.com would be sent to bob@sam.com). Email Address Trace This option will allow you to enter an email address that you wish to see the delivery path. Mailing Lists The Mailing List option, once installed, allows you to create and manage your own mailing lists, which is an efficient way of communicating with many people at one time. Spam Assassin Spam Assassin is a mail filter to identify spam using text analysis and several internet-based realtime blacklists. Using its rule base, it uses a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers and body text to identify ``spam'', also known as unsolicited commercial email. Once identified, the mail is then tagged as spam for later filtering using the user's own mail user-agent application. Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry) This option will allow you to edit your domain's MX Records directly from the control panel. BoxTrapper Spam Trap Boxtrapper protects your inbox from Spam by forcing all people not on your white list to reply to a verifcation email before they can send mail to you. Change Password This option allows you to change the passwords for your account. FTP Manager The FTP Manager option will allow you to create and manage additional FTP users for your domain. Each FTP user will have a separate login, and will have access to sub-directories associated with the website. This tool will also allow you to set quotas for the additional users, and will also let you set which directories these new users will have access to. Disk Usage Viewer This option will allow you to view your current disk-space usage. File Manager File Manager is a very powerful feature. It allows you to manipulate all the files in your website. You are able to create, delete, and move your files and directories. You can also upload files from your local PC to the server in File Manager and change the password for directories that are password-protected. Plus, you can edit the HTML in any of your files from this option. Everything you need to manage your site can be found in this feature. Index Manager The index manager will allow you to turn indexes on or off for a directory. If indexes are off, people will not be able to see what files are in a directory that lacks an index file. Frontpage Extensions If you are planning on using Microsoft's FrontPage as your web-development tool, you will first need to enable FrontPage Extensions. Installing FrontPage extensions for your site does not install Microsoft FrontPage on your computer. FrontPage is a separate software application which you will need to purchase and install on your computer. Web Protect Using this option, you can limit the amount of access users have to your site. You can specify a username and password for the directory you are protecting. Each protected directory can have multiple users (each with different passwords if you prefer) who have access to it. Custom Error Pages You can create customized error pages, so when a user types in the wrong URL, or enters the incorrect information, you can have nice looking error pages matching your web site instead of the plain ones supplied by the system. HotLink Protection HotLink protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files on your website. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type that you don't specify (ie. html files). An example of hotlinking would be using a image tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. SubDomains This option will allow you to setup sub-domains on your account such as mail.yourdomain.com and music.yourdomain.com. Parked Domains This option will allow you to automatically park domains on your domain through the Control Panel. Domain Parking is available to you at no cost, so it can be a great source of profits for your business. Addon Domains This feature will allow you to host additional domain names on your hosting account which will share the same resources as the primary domain. Manage Redirects This option allows you to setup a redirection so that a user that types in one URL will automatically be sent to another URL. If set up to forward your domain to an existing website on the web, visitors will be transported instantly to the URL of your choice. MySQL Databases MySQL is a database engine that you can use with your website. This feature of the CP will allow you to create a new MySQL database, and manage it. You will be able to add/edit/delete tables, fields, and values. You can also run queries on the database if you need to. phpMyAdmin phpMyAdmin is a web-based tool written in PHP that you can use to administer MySQL databases. It can create and drop databases, create/drop/alter tables, delete/edit/add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys on fields, manage privileges and export data into various formats Backup This option allows you to backup your website files and databases. You can also restore files with this option. IP Deny Manager This feature will allow you to block any range of ips you wish from accessing your web site. You can also enter a fully qualified domain name, and the IP Deny Manager will attempt to resolve it to an IP address for you. Web/FTP Stats This option will allow you view your Web and FTP stats. We provide three stats programs, Analog, Awstats and Webalizer. Sub Domain Stats This option will allow you view your Subdomains stats. We provide three stats programs, Analog, Awstats and Webalizer. Error Log This option will allow you to have direct access to your error log files. Bandwidth This option allows you to view a report of your bandwidth usage which includes HTTP, SMTP, FTP and POP3 traffic. The bandwidth information is updated every 6 hours. Latest Visitors This option will allow you to view detailed information about the latest visitors that have accessed your website. Raw Log Manager Manage your Raw Log Files from your control panel. Raw Access Logs This option will allow you to have direct access to your raw log files that hold information on how your site has been accessed. You will have the ability to retrieve and view raw access logs straight from Apache and analyze statistics with programs such as MediaHouse, LiveStats etc... Cron Jobs Cron Jobs allow you to setup commands that will run automatically on your server at set intervals that you specify. Mime Types MIME types determine how specific files should be handled by the browser. Apache Handlers Apache handlers determine how specific files should be handled by your server. Manage OpenPGP Keys This option will allow you to mange your PGP keys. Networking Tools This option will allow you to perform a Traceroute or Domain name Lookup. SSL Manager The SSL Manager will allow you to generate SSL certificates, signing requests, keys and install SSL on the server. You need a dedicated IP address to install SSL on your account. Please contact support if you require a dedicated IP address. CGI Center This option will allow you to install a number of scripts on your account including, Random HTML, GuestBook, Counter, Clock, Countdown, CGI E-mail, FormMail Clone, Search engine, Rotating Banner Ads. Add-On Scripts This option will allow you to install Blogs, Bulletin Boards, CMS, E-commerce, Gallery, Guest Books, Support based ticket system on your account. Fantastico This option allows you to auto-install over 40 applications from the control panel. Search Engine Submit This option allows you to submit your website to the following search engines, alltheweb, directhit, google, hotbot, lycos, and mixcat. Language This option will allow you to choose your desired language that the control panel will be displayed in. Theme This option will allow you to choose different control panel themes based on your own pesonal preference.
